One of Nollywood’s emerging forces Ojo Emmanuel Ayodele, also known as Ojay MAKANAKI, has expressed his commitment to changing the landscape through his platform RCSMTV on YouTube.
In 2012, Ojay joined Nollywood, spending years in the industry before landing his first role in “OJO Ola” by Arewa Southy in 2022.
Subsequently, he acted in multiple films, including “Married but Single” and “My Cross,” all under the directorship of his friend and mentor, Kayode Adebayo.
Aside from his acting roles, he has made his mark as an executive producer as he highlighted movies like “Ega,” “Antecedent,” and his own production, “Ojay Makanaki among others.
Additionally, he shared his involvement in films such as “Terror” produced by Muyideen Raji and several others.
When asked about his inspiration for filmmaking, Ojay credited Kayode Adebayo (Kay Alubarika), who recognised his hidden talents and ignited his passion for acting. He expressed deep love for his craft and emphasized the impact of falling in love with what he does.
Discussing the business aspect, he emphasised the need for investment in the industry. He acknowledged the potential lucrativeness of the film business, especially when collaborating with the right people.
Ojay revealed his vision for Nollywood through his platform, aiming to treat all actors equally, whether upcoming or established. He stressed the importance of fair compensation for everyone involved in a movie production.
Explaining the inception of RCSMTV, Ojay described it as an innovation from a businessman’s mindset. He expressed the desire to expand the brand, produce quality movies, and feature outstanding content from various actors on the channel.
The audience can expect a mix of classic and interesting movies, as well as coverage of events and educational programs on RCSMTV.
On the challenges posed by piracy, Ojay acknowledged its complexity. He suggested strategies such as watermarking movies and restricting circulation within the movie’s editing and marketing spheres to mitigate the issue.
Ojay disclosed his aspirations to collaborate with prominent filmmakers, including Funke Akindele, Odunlade Adekola, Toyin Abraham, and RMD, expressing a desire for more substantial roles with Femi Adebayo.
