Youths under the auspices of The Unlimited Club of Nigeria have organised a free medical outreach for communities in Abeokuta.
The exercise which took place on Sunday, at the Olubara Palace was part of a larger plan to support Nigerians suffering from health issues to overcome their challenges.
Hundreds of those who thronged the place were tested and issued drugs for free at the event.
Speaking on the need for more of such developments, the Olubara of Ibara, Oba Dr Jacob Olufemi Omolade, who was the first to be tested, applauded the group, saying that the initiative is a welcome development.
He advised the group to continue in their humanitarian services, adding that the program has afforded people the opportunity to know their health status for free.

Dr Akinbami AbdulLateef who prescribed drugs to the patient while speaking with Tribune Online, revealed that a high number of the beneficiaries tested positive to malaria, typhoid, and high blood pressure.
He lamented the rate at which people retire to self-medication. According to him, drug abuse is one fatal act that has claimed more lives in the country
One of the beneficiaries, Samson Olayinka lauded the group for the initiative. He, therefore, bemoaned the high cost of medical services in hospitals as one of the reasons people resort to self-medication.
The President of the Club, Dada Babajide expressed gratitude to the beneficiaries for embracing the initiative, just as he reiterated the club’s commitment to giving back to the society in ways that will benefit the people, regardless of their status.
