ANOTHER batch of pensioners in Ogun State have been paid their gratuities in fulfilment of Senator Ibikunle Amosun’s administration promise, last December.
The state government released N1.7billion for the payment of gratuities to another batch of 685 pensioners.
This was part of the N6billion released by the state government from the Paris Club Refund to offset gratuities for 2,429 retirees from November 2012 till January 2014.
While speaking with the beneficiaries on Monday, the Head of Service, Abayomi Sobande, commended the retirees for their patience and understanding over a long period of time.
The HoS appealed to that are yet to receive their money to exercise patience with government, saying that others would get their money paid in due course.
The Permanent Secretary, Bureau of State Pensions Board, Babatunde Agbaje, assured the beneficiaries that cheques for all those that retired from January to June 2013 were ready for collection enjoining them to be orderly.
