Ogun lawmaker, Egungbohun, empowers constituents

Published by

A member of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Wahab Egungbohun has empowered the state residents in his constituency by giving them financial assistance to boost their economic status.

Aside from the financial empowerment, he also donated gas cylinders as additional gifts.

Hon. Egungbohun explained that the gesture was part of his campaign promises which are geared towards the development of his constituency.

He noted that the promises aim to alleviate the suffering of his people, adding that the “Women Cash Empowerment” is necessary so that they (women) can start something on their own.

Egungbohun who represents Yewa North Constituency II (Ketu) at the state assembly made the donation at Oja Odan in Yewa North Local Government of the state.

The lawmaker explained that the empowerment will reduce the rate of unemployment in the state especially in his constituency.

He said: “Apart from this women cash empowerment that we are doing here today, it is also in my plan to empower men in my constituency.

“I will soon start that. I will empower them, especially the farmers among them. I am going to buy special equipment to assist them. I will also look beyond farmers, everyone will benefit from my next empowerment programme. I believe the little I am going to give them they will all appreciate it.”

He added that the gesture is a continuous programme, adding that he will ensure that the dividends of democracy reach his constituents.

In his remarks, the local government chairman of ADC in Yewa North, Chief Isikalu Jackson advised the beneficiaries not to mismanage the opportunity given them.

He therefore assured those that did not benefit to remain calm, saying that another set of people will be empowered very soon.
