Ogun institution inaugurates ICT application centre

AN Information and Communication Technology Development Centre will be formally inaugurated by Gateway (ICT) Polytechnic, Saapade, Ogun State, on Saturday.
This was disclosed by the Rector of the state-owned institution, Dr Isaiah Oyeyinka, at a press conference heralding the second convocation ceremony of the school, slated to hold on the 29th of September.
He said that the centre upon take off will provide software solutions for industrial use, mobile applications and software engineering, saying that the institution at inception had been working with CISCO Network Academy.
He further said that the school is also partnering with Google, Facebook, Oracle and Microsoft on the centre, adding that the school had been breaking new grounds in research of renewal energy, especially in solar and wind.
Oyeyinka said a total number of 5,000 students will be graduating with Ordinary National Diploma (OND) and National Higher Diploma (HND) from 2010 to 2018.
He noted that the school had been progressing over the years through assistance from the State Government on its mission to rebuild education in the State.
“It is expedient to know that we are determined to continue producing graduates who would benefit themselves, their employers and the country, ” the Rector added.
