Ogun CP vows to clampdown on activities of landgrabbers

Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Abiodun Alamutu, has vowed to clamp down on activities of landgrabbers, who are out to disrupt the peace of the state.

Alamutu said this is necessary in order to provide a safe ambience that will enable investors and their businesses to thrive in the state.

The CP stated this when the CEO of Pelican Valley Nigeria Limited, Babatunde Adeyemo, paid him a courtesy visit at the state Police Command Headquarters in Abeokuta.

He described the activities of landgrabbers who continuously frustrate business owners, especially real estate agents, as nightmarish, adding that tackling it is on the front burner for the command.

Alamutu said: “You know that in your trade, some people are out to frustrate others because they know you will not have time to pursue court cases and that is their own stock in trade. They want to frustrate people out of business, that is why the issue of land grabbing is on the front burner of our programme.”

Adeyemo, who sought the command’s commitment to creating a secure environment for businesses, pledged to donate a police post for the command around the Masa-Kobape corridor of the state, adding that crimes will reduce if proper preventive measures are taken.

Speaking earlier, Adeyemo said, “We are willing to complement your effort by using this medium to seek your guidance on the process of donating a police post close to one of our estates in the Masa community.”

Adeyemo was accompanied during the visit by Bobawoga of Orile Itesi in Egbaland, Chief Olawale Olaleye; Pelican’s Director of Operations, Ife Daniel and Company Secretary, Aminat Adisa Kudaisi among others.
