THE Ogun State House of Assembly, on Tuesday, confirmed the appointment of Mrs Adepeju Adebajo, a commissioner-nominee forwarded to it by Governor Ibikunle Amosun.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the confirmation of the nominee followed a motion moved by Mr Adeyinka Mafe, the Majority Leader, and seconded by Mrs Yetunde Adekunbi-Sogbehin, during plenary in Abeokuta.
Mr Olakunle Oluomo, the Deputy Speaker, had earlier read the report of the committee of the whole House on the screening of the commissioner-nominee.
Oluomo said that the committee scrutinised the curriculum vitae and credentials of the nominee and found her worthy for appointment into the exalted position of a commissioner in the state.
“It is therefore recommended that the request of the governor for confirmation of the commissioner is consented to by the House,” he said.
Mafe, thereafter, moved the motion for the adoption of the report of the committee of the whole House, seconded by Mr Wale Alausa, the House Minority leader.
The majority leader also moved the motion that the House adopted the votes and proceedings of the sitting while it was seconded by Alausa.
The News Agency of Nigeria reported that Amosun had on December 1 forwarded the name of the commissioner-nominee to the House for confirmation.
