Ogun APC petitions Oshiomhole over Amosun’s alleged anti-party activities

Members of the Ogun State Caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have petitioned the National Chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomole, over the governor of the state, Senator Ibikunle Amosun’s alleged anti-party activities.

In the petition dated 7th January titled: ‘Re: Petition Against The Governor Of Ogun State Senator Ibikunle Amosun For Anti-Party Activities And Utterances’, the Caucus members called the attention of the National Chairman to alleged destructive tendencies of Amosun, towards the corporate interest of the party and its members in the state.

The petition signed by Secretary of the Caucus, Samuel Durojaye on behalf of16 others, which include Prince Dapo Abiodun (APC, governorship candidate) and his deputy governorship candidate, Engr (Mrs) Noimot Salako-Oyedele; serving and current members of the National Assembly; former deputy governor of the state, Prince Segun Adesegun among others.

Amosun was alleged to have sponsored and encouraged members of APC who are his followers to leave APC for the Allied People’s Movement (APM), where his preferred candidate is contesting for the governorship seat.

The petitioners also alleged that the governor using his office to sway the uniformed security personnel to aid the activities of hired hoodlums in the destruction of campaign materials of the APC and instilling fear in the minds of party followers and supporters.

They expressed worry that given the open declaration of war on Ogun State APC and brazen destruction of all party structure at all levels by Amosun, coupled with his hostilities towards all APC candidates, saying they have lost confidence in the governor and his sincerity to head the Presidential Election Council in Ogun state.
