Ogembe wins PDP Kogi central ticket, promises quality representation

THE senator representing Kogi central senatorial district, Ahmed Ogembe, has emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flagbearer for the senatorial district in the next general election.

Ogembe emerged through affirmation by delegates at the primary election of the party held in Tuesday evening at Okene, the headquarters of the senatorial axis.

Speaking after the exercise, said the victory belonged to all the good people of Kogi Central Senatorial District who had been clamouring for quality representation, empowerment and prosperity of the people for greater tomorrow.

According to him “In all electoral contests, tempers often rise and nerves are frayed. I therefore wish to appeal to all my co-contestants and their supporters, to let go of past differences as we work together for the resounding victory for our great party comes 2019.

“I would be counting on all my co-contestants to share their wealth of experience, ideas and knowledge in furtherance of our collective desire to make Kogi Central moves to an enviable height”

He charged party stakeholders, supporter and members to move  out to various homes, polling units, wards and local government in the district to canvass for votes, saying
“the end of the primaries is only the beginning of the greater work we are called to do”

The Senator noted that despite the prevailing economic hardship, the socioeconomic empowerment of the people would be his priority.

Ogembe disclosed that as a Senator he empowered 1600 women with N20,000 seed capital, provided 80 tricycles, 150 sewing machines, 65 generators, 70 grinding machines and 100 motorcycles to youths in his first phase of empowerment programme.

“In just recently, I carried out similar empowerment programme, as the second phase, where items worth N250 million was  equally distributed to youths, women and leaders across all the five Local Governments in Kogi Central Senatorial District”

He commended members of the National Working Committee of the party, the observers, political leaders, delegates and the PDP faithful for a peaceful conduct of the primary election.
