THE Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Audu Ogbeh paid follow-up visit to IDP Beans Farmers Market for on-site needs assessment ahead of FG intervention
Barely one month after his first visit to the Internally Displaced Persons, IDP Beans Farmers Market in Auta-Baliffe, Karu, Nasarawa State, Chief Ogbeh today returned to the market on a follow-up visit to conduct an assessment and identify specific areas for immediate intervention by the Federal Government.

Recall that The Minister visited the community in December last year to identify possible areas of intervention by the federal government.
Addressing the farmers during the visit, the Minister charged the IDP farmers and traders on proper and safe storage of their farm produce and on the danger of preserving food with harmful chemicals.
This comes after the presentation of a report on the IDP farmers’ market to the federal executive council by the Minister and subsequent deliberations on funds sourcing for intervention and timely support for the farming community.

Areas of immediate intervention identified include access road construction, provision of water and sanitary facilities, storage facilities, threshers, area fencing and land acquisition to benefit the 21 farming clusters of about 21,000 farmers.
