This is in response to the outrageous hike in the prices of food and other commodities due to the declining economic situation of the country.

Nigerians who engaged the report on Tribune Online social media platforms expressed their displeasure, revealing how they can no longer keep up with purchase of the goods they use regularly due to the ridiculous increase in prices of commodities.

Expressing their dissatisfaction, a Facebook user, @Mike Oluwabukola Odu lamented that despite the presence of governance in the country, the cost of living is still very unbearable. He said, “The cost of living is killing the living all commodities are too expensive and we have government in this country.”

@Tahir Ibrahim said  “Everything. Absolutely everything you can think off”

“Common Gari ( German sand), has become so essential and no longer staple food.  ?🤔”, @Als Justice lamented.

Enejoh John, another Facebook user reacted, “Nothing is affordable in this country any longer. Suffering everywhere. #Nigeriantribune”

A Twitter user also said:

Other Nigerians on Instagram made an endless list on the things they could conveniently buy before but have found too expensive to buy now.

However, a Facebook user advised other users on how to keep up and manage the present economic situation. @Femi Oluwola opined,  “The way around this is to increase your income and cut down on all unnecessary expenditures. Focus on the basic necessities of life and do not live to impress anybody. Live a simple and moderate life and you will survive in this economy.”
