Odidi Omo ascribes tribunal victory to constituents

A member of the House of Representatives representing Ibadan Southwest/Northwest Federal Constituency, Honourable Adedeji Stanley Olajide, known as Odidi Omo, has ascribed his victory at the election petition tribunal to his constituents.

Odidi Omo, who is the chairman, House Committee on ICT and Cyber Security, said the victory at the tribunal is well deserved, just as he promised more quality representation.

Recall that the National and State Assembly Election Petition Tribunal sitting at Iyaganku, Ibadan, headed by Justice Sobere Biambo, affirmed the victory and re-election of Honourable Olajide of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)dismissed the petition filed by Akinade Saheed Fijabi of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Olajide, however, called on his challenger to join hands with him in the development of the federal constituency.

He said: “The victory is very humbling and it is a victory for my constituents; they deserve it, God put me in this position mainly because of them and He has reassured us to continue in office and that is what it is, a blessing for my people to continue in office.

“Like I have always told people, I’m not in politics because I’m looking for money to build a house or to start a business or to have a good living, all these things I have, my main focus in politics is how are we going to make all the right changes in my federal constituency in Oyo state, so that our people will enjoy the short and long terms dividends of democracy.

“Dividends of democracy go a long way, there are so many aspects of it but we have to improve the quality of lives of our people from security to healthcare, education and all areas that we touch their lives positively; that is going to be my focus and we are going to do a lot of it.

“From infrastructure, you will see the roads we have constructed, provision of water to our people, when you look at education, a lot of classrooms have been built and equipped; we have also awarded scholarships to our students and when you come into healthcare, health facilities have been renovated, built and equipped and with God on our side, we will improve on these in our second year.”
