Odeyale residents draw Makinde’s attention to bad state of road under construction

Residents of the Odeyale community in Ona-Ara Local Government Area of Oyo State, have called on the governor of the state, Mr Seyi Makinde, to pay an inspection visit to the site of the ongoing work on Odeyale-Ajia road, to see the bad state some portions of the road are.

Speaking on behalf of the residents during a visit by Tribune Online to the community, Mr Joseph Akintomide, noted that the construction work on the road began in May last year but to the amazement of residents, some portions of the road have started going bad.

“As you can see, some parts of the road are going bad already, particularly Odeyale to Ajia along Egbeda. The quality of the road which construction work started only last year is very poor, we believe the Oyo State Government should pay serious attention to the work being done on the road.

“While we appreciate the effort of governor Seyi Makinde-led administration at putting things in the right perspective as far as infrastructure development in the state is concerned, we see the work by the contractor handling the Odeyale-Ajia road project as an attempt to thwart the effort.

“We, therefore, call on the governor to as a matter of urgency pay an inspection visit to the site of the road project so that he can see for himself what we are talking about. It is our belief that if the project is done effectively, the governor would take the glory and if it did otherwise, he would surely receive backlash despite the fact that he was not the contractor who did the job,” Akintomide noted.
