Oborevwori commended over ongoing repair of Umeh bridge

President-General of Umeh community, Chief Dennis Akwakwa; Chief Duncan Afahokor, as well as the Majority Leader of the Eight Isoko South Legislative House, Eza Elohor, have commended the Delta State government for the prompt repair of the Umeh bridge without which community would have been cut off.

They also applauded Oborevwori for his MORE Agenda and the laudable projects he is executing across the state.

The commendation came during an on-the-spot inspection of the ongoing repair work by the Commissioner for Works, Urban Roads and Highways, Comrade Reuben Izeze.

Parts of the Umeh bridge in Isoko South Local Government Area of the state had been in a deplorable state before the present administration came into power.

Izeze commended Oborevwori for giving a prompt response and providing the right leadership to the people of the state.

“Governor Sheriff Oborevwori-led administration will not tolerate any form of substandard job or shortcuts in the execution of projects in the state, as every money spent on projects must derive its expected value and no contractor is bigger than the state,” he warned.

He averred that he has no doubt that the contracting firm handling the project, Setraco Nigeria Limited, will deliver a quality job.

He said that the Superintendent Engineer, as well as the Zonal Engineer, have all been at the project site to ascertain the quality and progress of the work, just as he maintained that the entire department of highways and urban works is working together to ensure a quality job delivery.

According to him, the opening of the natural waterways, is to ensure the protection of the bridge from any effect of flood.

He called on the people of Umeh to continue to support Governor Oborevwori for the good work he is doing in the state.

He commended one of the community leaders, the Ododo of Umeh kingdom, Chief Duncan Afahokor for his continued advocacy for the good of the community which has paid off with the repair work on the Umeh bridge.
