Implementation of the new national minimum wage will add over two billion naira wage bill on the state government’s monthly expenses.
Governor Willie Obiano who disclosed this to some selected journalists in his country home residence at Aguleri in Anambra East Local Government Area on Wednesday said he will pay the new minimum wage as he promised workers in the state.
Governor Obiano called for concerted efforts towards improving the state’s Internally Generated Revenue to aid the government in carrying out other important expenses for enhancing the development of the state.

The Governor also disclosed that the State government has invested over two point nine billion naira to give the state own broadcasting station, the Anambra Broadcasting Service its present digital status.
Quoting some areas of improvement, Governor Obiano revealed that after the implementation of the new minimum wage which he said will add over two billion naira to the State government’s wage bill he will do more interventions for the broadcast house, its staff and other less establishment across the state.
For his part, a member of the Board of Management of the government-owned electronic Media and the traditional Ruler of Nteje in Oyi Local Government area, Igwe Roland Odegbo, thanked the Governor for the commendation, urging the Staff of the station to be focused and committed to duty.
