Obesere speaks on new ‘Hip-Hop Mafia’ album

Fuji icon, Alhaji Abass Akande, otherwise known as Obesere, is set to release a new version of himself as a one of the most talented musicians in the country.

He is ready to dish out something unusual of him to the delight of his fans, which he entitled: “Hip Hop Mafia”, meaning that he is the don of that particular genre of music. A few of the tracks he revealed to R were entitled “Personality”, “Murderer”, “Jaforie”, “’Ebelesua”, among others.

Recall that Obesere has put in a lot of effort and seriousness of purpose this year given countless appearances in several Nollywood movies and releasing of several hit tracks, including two albums which he dropped some months back- ‘Daddy’s Talk’ and ‘Money Spender.’

Speaking to R in Lagos State, on Friday, he noted that his latest release, which is purely a Hip Hop genre, has about 16 tracks and some bonus tracks. In the  latest album, which he said was done because he wanted his fans to enjoy something different and to show he is multi-talented.

According to him, he featured the YBNL boss, Olamide, Reminisce, Timaya, and a host of other A-list Nigerian artistes. The much anticipated album is expected to hit the market next week Monday.

“I was able to work hard this year because I was determined and God gave me the power to move very fast. For the album, I just decided to do something different to thrill my great fans and for the young ones in order to appreciate Fuji musicians better, and not think we are restricted,” he said.
