Obaseki will secure APC ticket ― Idahosa

Published by

BUOYED by what he insisted is the solid support of the rank and file members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), a former Senior Political adviser to Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, the immediate past governor of Edo state Mr Charles Idahosa, has predicted that Governor Godwin Obaseki, will win the forthcoming election.

Idahosa who spoke yesterday in Benin during a visit by the 18 local government areas party chairmen in the state noted that if anybody tries to stop him either by commission or omission it will be the end of APC in the state.

He said: “We are with Godwin Obaseki and with you (chairman) and other party members supporting him, we will achieve victory,”

According to him, the governorship primary election will be determined by the state chapter of the party and not the national leadership.

He said that the constitution of APC was clear on who has the power to decide the method for primaries.

” Nobody contested with former governor Lucky Igbinedion and  Adams Oshiomhole, so why would people contest against a performing governor Godwin Obaseki now,”.

Idahosa alleged that the National Chairman of APC, Adams Oshiomhole has deliberately refused to settle the rift between him and governor Godwin Obaseki.

Earlier, the chairmen passed a vote of confidence on the State Governor, Obaseki and Idahosa as party leader  Uhunmwonde local government.

Speaking on behalf of the chairmen, Ben Oghumu, who is the chairman Forum of APC  chairman in the state, assured that Obaseki’s will complete his eight-year because he has brought sanity and peace to the state.
