The Oba Yoruba of Bauchi, Alhaji Tirimisiyu Tijjani Adegoke, has congratulated the newly installed Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade, on his coronation and presentation of the staff of office by the Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde.
He described the ceremony as the pinnacle of upholding the customs and traditions of the people of Oyo Kingdom and the Yoruba race as a whole, commending the people of Oyo Kingdom for the success of the programme.
According to him, “I felicitate and congratulate the new Alaafin of Oyo, His Royal Majesty, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade, on his ascension to the throne of his forefathers. I have strong hope that his enthronement will bring good tidings and prosperity to the people of Oyo Town, Insha Allah.”
“I have no doubt that the Alaafin has the creativity, capacity, capability, and commitment to transform the lives of his people and move Oyo Town forward,” he added.
Tirimisiyu Adegoke further stated, “It is certain that in every contest or quest to fill a vacant position, there will be diverse interests and opinions, but at the end of the day, a truce must be found, and there must be a winner. May God bless Your Royal Majesty and the people of Oyo Kingdom.”
The Oba Yoruba added, “I want to appeal to his contenders to resign themselves to the will of God by cooperating with the newly coronated Alaafin of Oyo in order to move the Oyo Kingdom forward because only God Almighty enthrones and dethrones.”
He stressed, “With the process culminating in the presentation of the staff of office and coronation, the next step is service to the people. This can only be achieved with support and cooperation. I, therefore, call on all sons and daughters of Oyo Kingdom to rally behind the new Alaafin in order to move the kingdom forward positively.”
He then pledged his loyalty and support to the new Alaafin of Oyo, emphasising that, as an indigene of Oyo and in his position as the traditional ruler of the Yoruba in Bauchi, he would ensure that the monarch receives the necessary support at all times.
