In a press statement signed by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of OAU, Mr Abiodun Olarewaju, a copy of which was made available to the Nigerian Tribune in Osogbo, the institution said “the management of OAU has paid earned allowance to its workers in compliance with the federal government directive that the money released be paid to every segment of the university workforce”.

It will be recalled that these unions have embarked on strike action against the federal government over an alleged disparity in the disbursement of the allowance to all staff of unions in Nigerian universities”.
“With this development, the management, therefore appeals to its striking workers to sheath their sword and allow peace to reign on campus”.
