OAPs not helping upcoming artistes

Published by

ONE of the fastest growing industries in the country today is the music industry, which has given many youths financial breakthroughs. That is why there are many youths going into the industry, but if the truth must be told, On Air Personalities (OAPs) and media personalities are not helping upcoming artistes at all. Most of these OAPs are not ready to render assistance to struggling upcoming artistes by playing their songs without demanding for outrageous sums of money. Most times, if the struggling artistes cannot come up with the money being demanded by OAPs, then their songs will not enjoy airtime. In fact, the OAPs will prefer to play songs of already established artistes. They even go as far as playing the songs of dead musicians, while abandoning the efforts of struggling upcoming artistes.
