Bola Odubote on her sickbed at the Lagos State Teaching Hospital, (LUTH) Lagos.
AN On Air Personality (OAP) formerly with Splash FM in Ibadan, Oyo State, Miss Bola Odubote, has been diagnosed with brain tumour and is now on admission at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idi Araba, Lagos.
One of her friends, who does not want his name in print, told Sunday Tribune that he noticed the popular event organiser was not looking good the last time she came to his office in Ibadan.
“She was always having a runny nose, which she told me was sinuses, but which I never believed because it was becoming too constant with her. I guess the cancer must have been festering since those days,” he said.

Another friend of the Olabisi Onabanjo University graduate, Gbenga Makinde, told Sunday Tribune on Saturday morning that:”Friends should please pray for Bola because she’s now unconscious, we have been told. The first time I met her was when she came to cover the Ibadan leg of Ruggedman’s South West album tour at Genesis Hotel in 2011. “She loves entertainment with passion. If there is ever a time that all the celebrities she had helped to put on major shows in Ibadan could do something for her, it is now.” Bola will never ask, but we are asking on her behalf because Nigerians, especially those in the entertainment business, are cheerful givers.”
Anne Nwaghodoh, a colleague of Bola at Splash FM, now a newscaster on Channels TV in Lagos, in a phone conversation, told Sunday Tribune that she learned about her friend’s condition after she collapsed two weeks ago and was rushed to the hospital.
“It was at the hospital that she was discovered to have a small tumour which has moved from her nostril to her brain,” she said.
