The leadership of the Out-of-Home Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (OAAN) has assured of its commitment to truly redefining and repositioning the Out-of-Home sub-sector to enable it serve the positive interests of stakeholders.
The association’s President, Mr. Sola Akinsiku, gave the assurance in Lagos, at a media parley to announce plans for the 39th edition of the association’s Annual General Meeting/ Conference, scheduled for Ibadan, next month, August.
Akinsiku stated that for the industry, especially the out-of-home subsector to remain relevant, it has become imperative for practitioners to constantly innovate so as to be in sync with the present-day trend in the industry.
According to him, the theme of the event, ‘Redefining OOH Media in Nigeria: The Practice, The Business and Value Creation’, stemmed from the desire to constantly and regularly review and re-examine the out-of-home media ecosystem in line with prevailing exigencies, in order to make it continuously relevant.
He added that the association will be enlisting one of the industry’s foremost practitioners, the former Chairman, Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON), now Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), and Chairman/Chief Executive Prima Garnet Africa, Mr. Lolu Akinwunmi, as the Keynote Speaker at the event.
The AGM, he added, will also afford the leadership of the association the opportunity to give its scorecard of the last one year, and also unveil its policy directions in the next one year.
Some of the dignitaries expected at the event, he stated, are: the Oyo State governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde; the Director General Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), Dr. Lekan Fadolapo and Heads of the Advertising Sectoral Groups (HASG).
