NYSC: Gov Yusuf charges corps members on dedication to service

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has charged the 2025 Batch ‘A’ Stream 1 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members to dedicate themselves to the service of the state and nation, emphasizing that their service year will be a critical period of growth and development.

The Governor gave the charge during the official swearing-in ceremony of the corps members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Kusalla Dam, Karaye LGA, Kano State.

Speaking on his behalf at the occasion, the Permanent Secretary, Special Duties, Hajiya Aisha Kailani, urged the corps members to dedicate themselves to the service of the state and nation, stressing that their service year would be a vital time for growth and development.

He further assured that his administration would continue to support corps members by fulfilling its statutory obligations to the Scheme and providing a peaceful atmosphere for optimal performance.

Governor Yusuf also stated that his administration would work closely with security agencies to guarantee the safety of corps members throughout their service year.

“I call on you to dedicate yourselves with principle and commitment to the progress and development of the state, in order to bring about positive advancement in our dear nation,” he said.

Speaking at the event, the NYSC Kano State Coordinator, Hajiya Halima Abdulkadir Abubakar, welcomed the corps members to Kano State and emphasized the objectives of the National Youth Service Corps Scheme, including national integration, selfless service, oneness, and brotherhood.

She urged the corps members to participate fully in all camp activities with an open mind and to serve the nation diligently.

She highlighted the importance of the corps members’ roles in contributing to the growth and development of the state, particularly in areas such as education, agriculture, infrastructure, and rural healthcare delivery.

Hajiya Halima Abubakar said,
“Your service year in our state will complement government efforts in stimulating the recovery and growth of our national economy, especially in the areas of education, agriculture, infrastructure, and rural healthcare delivery.”
