The Director General of National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed has admonished Corps members to avoid every act of criminality during their service year.
He stated this while addressing the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream One Corps members at NYSC Kwara State Orientation Camp in Yikpata, Edu Local Government Area of the State.
Acting Director, Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, made this known in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja.
Ahmed warned the Corps members that the Scheme is not an abode for criminal elements but for individuals of good morals who are ready to contribute their quota to the development of their host communities.
He added that there is no immunity for any Corps Member that violates the NYSC Bye-Law and other laws of the country.
“Don’t consume hard drugs, avoid fraud, hooliganism and other forms of misconduct that can lead you to trouble. Don’t violate the Scheme’s Bye-Law. Avoid night travelling and respect the constituted authorities because offenders would be sanctioned”, he said.
