NYSC DG tasks corps members on commitment to primary responsibility

GENERAL Sule Kazaure, the Director General, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has charged corps members to be committed in the discharge of their duties at their Places of Primary Assignment.

Kazaure, made the call on Friday during an inspection visit to the Permanent orientation camp at Kuala in Karaye Local Government Area of Kano state.

The DG, who, was represented by the Director, Human Resources Department, Mrs Eze Makinde said it was only through commitment, dedication and selfless service that the corps members could excel and achieve the desired results.

“You should also consider your posting to Kano State as a will of God, and put in all efforts through conducting yourselves in such a way others can admire you.

“As you are about to complete your three weeks course, in which you will be taught so many things including how to be self-reliant, I enjoin you to put it into practice anywhere you are posted to, “he said.

He also urged them to utilise the skills they acquired during their three weeks in camp for the betterment of the state and the country in general.

Kazaure also advised them to feel free and mingle with their host communities as well as respect their culture, tradition and religion.

He commended the state Coordinator for the positive changes he had brought to the scheme in Kano within the short period he spent in the state.

“I also want to commend the state government for their support to NYSC in Kano, especially by providing the camp with 750 mattresses and 2, 000 plastic chairs to make the environment conducive for the corps members.

The Director General also commended the State government for renovating some structures at the camp.

Earlier in his remarks, the state NYSC Coordinator, Alhaji Ladan Baba commended the corps members for their peaceful conduct and perseverance since their arrival at the camp.

He pledged to ensure that corps members posted to the state enjoyed their stay in Kano.
