NYSC deploys 1,781 corps members to Bauchi

A total of 1,782 Corps members have been deployed to Bauchi State by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) for the mandatory one year National Service.
The figure was disclosed by the Bauchi State Coordinator of the Scheme, Mr Afolayan James on Friday during the swearing-in ceremony of the 2019 Batch A Corps members held at the Wailo NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp located in Ganjuwa Local Government Area of the state.
According to him, the Corps members include 1, 001 males and 780 females adding that series of activities such as physical drills, skills acquisition, citizenship and leadership training has been designed to equip them in order to be able to cope with future challenges.
Also speaking at the ceremony, the State Governor, Mohammed Abdullahi  Abubakar who was represented by State Head of Civil Service, Adamu Umar Gokaru said that the NYSC has been deliberately designed as a platform for harnessing the huge potentials and ingenuity of youths with a view to making them imbibe necessary qualities for national development.
He added that the crucial role of the scheme in advancing meaningful national growth and development is visible through its immeasurable contributions to programmes and projects that have a direct bearing on the lives of Nigerians.
“There is no doubt that these commendable achievements resulted from the outstanding performance of Corps Members who imbibed the ideals of discipline, commitment and selfless service which are all incorporated in the orientation training program”.
“Be assured that government has put in place necessary arrangements for your comfort and well-being in the camp. Therefore it is hoped that your orientation course experience here at Wailo camp will be a pleasant and memorable one”, he said.
