NYSC Corps member contribute to development of primary education in Adamawa

Pupils of Gombi I Primary School in Gombi LGA of Adamawa state have recently heaved a sigh of relief, having received 20 new double desks and benches from a Corps member.

Moses Sunday Scot (AD/18B/1143) constru- cted and donated the classroom furniture as part of his personal contributions to his host community. Other services he rendered in that regard were: free career guidance and counseling talk in five secondary schools in Gombi; as well as distribution of education materials to less privileged pupils in Gombi 11 primary school.

Speaking at a ceremony that marked the laun- ching of the desks and benches, NYSC Adamawa State Coordinator, Mall. Abubakar Mohammed, represented by the Head, CDS Branch, Mr. Sumla Elisha Mustapha lauded the Corps member for coming to the aid of needy pupils and students.

He urged community leaders and followers alike to cultivate the habit of supporting Corps members financially and/or materially in order to carry out viable projects.

The Head Master of the school revealed during the inauguration of the furniture that the many pupils used to sit on the floor to take lessons due to insufficient seats.

He therefore said that the donation made by the Corps member has brought succour to a lot of the pupils.

Earlier, Corps member Scot stated that he was touched to initiate the project when he saw children on bare floor receiving lessons.
