Renowned global entertainment company emPawa Africa, dedicated to empowering African artistes through strategic investments, has recently announced the departure of its Global Head of Label Services and Partnership, Ikenna Nwagboso.
Nwagboso, who co-founded emPawa Africa in 2018 alongside prominent artist and entrepreneur Mr Eazi, will officially conclude his role in January 2025.
During his tenure, Nwagboso has played a crucial role in shaping emPawa’s influence in the African music industry.
He has overseen the careers of artistes such as Joeboy, Fave, and Tekno, while also securing important partnerships with platforms like YouTube Music, Kobalt, and Beyoncé’s Parkwood Entertainment.
Nwagboso has also made significant contributions to emPawa’s flagship programmes, emPawa 100 and emPawa 30, which have successfully launched over 130 emerging African artistes.
Ace artist Joeboy, one of the first successes of the programs of the company, praised Nwagboso for his vital support in his rise to international stardom.
After leaving emPawa Africa, the company hinted that Nwagboso plans to focus on his new venture, Image Ent./Exodus Music Group, which currently represents Canadian artist Chrissy Spratt and British songwriter Geo. He will also be consulting on the debut album of Rwandan artist, Bruce Melodie.
