NURTW boss, Yasin, tasks leaders on legacy building

Published by

The president of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Alhaji Najeem Usman Yasin, has urged people who find themselves in position of leadership to always think of the legacy they will leave behind at the expiration of their tenure.

The NURTW boss stated this when he visited the Lagos State Council of the union to sympathise with the members of the union over the partial demolition of the council secretariat.

The President, who also commended the council for the ongoing construction of a new secretariat, said the good work and projects left behind by a leader will speak volumes about the type of person he is.

According to him, “I always appeal to people to always make sure they leave good legacy behind. This building is not for Agbede or any member of his executive. It is for the union. Even, generation yet unborn will be part of it, so always think of what you can do for your organisation.”

Alhaji Yasin described the partial demolition of the secretariat as a blessing in disguise for the union.

He appealed to members in the state to cooperate with their leaders to ensure the completion of the project in record time.

Speaking, the Lagos State chairman, Alhaji Tajudeen Agbede, thanked the president and his entourage for the visit and their words of encouragement, stating that the president’s visit was like tonic for him, noting that it would encourage him to remain focused on the project.
