Nursing mother drags husband to court over lack of care, assault

A nursing mother, Nana Samaila, on Monday, dragged her husband, Shehu Adamu before a Sharia Court l sitting at Magajin Gari, Kaduna over lack of care and assault.

The complainant also told the court she was no longer interested in the marriage because the defendant had accused her of infidelity.

“Marriage can’t be successful when your spouse suspects you, beats you and leaves you hungry.

”I can’t return to his house”, she told the court

In his defence, Adamu denied all the allegations saying they were untrue.

He said that the complainant allegedly connived with her mother, who never liked him to humiliate him.

Adamu prayed the court to give him time to try and reconcile with his wife.

After listening to both parties, the judge, Malam Shehu Adamu, adjourned the matter until July 7 for the couple to try and settle their differences.

“Should in case your reconciliation does not work, parties are advised to come with your parents or guardians on the adjourned date,” the judge ordered.
