NUP hails Gov Bago for settling retirees’ gratuities

The Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP) has commended Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago for promptly paying monthly pensions and clearing outstanding gratuities inherited from previous administrations since 2003.

In a letter dated August 27, 2024, NUP General Secretary Elder Actor Zal praised Governor Bago for responding to the union’s April 18, 2024, appeal to clear the accumulated gratuities.

Most pensioners have confirmed receiving their cheques, and their accounts have been credited, Elder Zal stated.

The union expressed heartfelt gratitude for Governor Bago’s commitment to uplifting retirees’ living standards, acknowledging his timely intervention has brought succour and relief to retirees and their families.

“The union will celebrate your commitment at the appropriate time. We are grateful to Almighty God for having Governor Umaru Bago at this time, despite the nation’s economic challenges,” Elder Zal said.

Governor Bago’s actions have brought hope to senior citizens who had lost hope in receiving their hard-earned pension benefits.
