NUGLOW inaugurates Lagos Excos, seeks enabling environment for members

Published by

The Lagos State Chapter of the National Union of Gaming and Lottery Workers (NUGLOW) inaugurated its new executives on Friday.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the General Secretary of the Union, Gregory Olatunji, urged the new executives to discharge their duties without fear or favour.

He highlighted the importance of Lagos State as a leader in various sectors across Nigeria, emphasising that the executives have been given a significant responsibility.

“Lagos State is a pacesetter for all activities in Nigeria. We don’t joke with the inauguration of the Lagos Chapter.

“The national body of this union mandated us to conduct this inauguration before the delegates’ conference,” Olatunji stated.

“This is a big task given to you today, and you have a lot to do. Our union is one of the key unions under the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC). The government should make the environment conducive for agents to thrive,” he added.

Also speaking at the event, the Acting Deputy General Secretary of NUGLOW, Wale Balogun, explained that the union was established to advocate for the collective interests of workers within the gaming industry.

He noted that the major challenge faced in the industry is alienation and stressed the importance of the state chapters as integral parts of the union.

“The union was formed to fight for the collective interest of workers within the gaming industry. We want you to know that the state chapters are a creation of the union. It is in this light that I urge you to fulfil your duties and obligations with utmost faith,” Balogun said.

“The challenge faced in this industry is alienation,” he concluded.
