The Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF) has appointed the chairman Oyo State Tennis Association, Dr Tayo Adesoji, as the technical director of the federation.

As contained in the letter of appointment dated August 25, signed by the secretary-general of the federation, Chimezie Asiegbu, and made available to TribuneSports Wednesday, the NTTF president, Ishaku Tikon, had approved the appointment after the meeting of the board upon the nomination of Dr Adesoji Tayo.

The letter explained that, the appointment was as a result of his contribution to the game at the state and national level, urging him to use his wealth of experience to steer the department to higher level.

“By this appointment, you are the technical head of the federation and you are to advise the board on technical matters concerning the federation. The appointment is with immediate effect which will last throughout the life span of the present board,” stated the secretary in the letter.

In his reaction, Dr Adesoji having expressed delight on the appointment assured that he would not let the board as well as the athletes down.

“I will put in my best possible to justify the confidence reposed in me, and I will use my position to help in the growth of the sport,” Tayo said via a whatsApp chat Wednesday.
