NSCDC reiterates commitment to provide security in Zamfara

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Zamfara State Command has reiterated its commitment to provide security for all religious bodies and legal organisations in the state.

In a statement issued on Wednesday in Gusau by the Public relations officer of the Zamfara state NSCDC, Ikor Oche, said the State Commandant, Sani Mustapha stated this when he hosted the leadership of the Redeemed Christian Church of God RCCG Zamfara Province at the State Command Headquarters Gusau on Tuesday in the state.

He said NSCDC is primarily saddled with the oversight function of monitoring activities of religious bodies as stated in section 3 of the enabling Act of the Corps 2003.

He therefore urged the RCCG leadership to always count on the Corps and relate freely when it relates to issues of security in their milieu.

The State Commandant therefore assured the religious body of the readiness of the Corps to accord all religious bodies in the state a maximum cooperation and collaboration in the area of security of life and properties.

Speaking earlier, the Assistant provincial pastor of RCCG in Zamfara State, pastor Victor T Yol who led the team, extolled the doggedness of the Corps in combating crime in the State.

The Clergy said the essence of the visit was to reinvigorate and revamp the collaborative status of the Church with the Corps in the areas of security and protection of the Church’s infrastructural facilities in the state, noting that the Corps has done so well in responding to distress calls from the church in the past.

Pastor Victor, therefore, averred that the Church desires a sustenance of the cordial and mutual understanding between the Corps and the Church.
