The Niger State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) decorated 76 officers with their new ranks on Wednesday.
The promotions include 23 Assistant Superintendents, 11 Assistant Superintendents 1, 10 Chief Superintendents to Assistant Commandants, 8 Assistant Superintendents to Deputy Superintendents, 15 Deputy Superintendents to Superintendents, 6 Superintendents to Chief Superintendents, and 6 Inspectors to Assistant Commandants II.
During the ceremony at the state Command Headquarters in Minna, the Commandant, Abdullahi Adamu Kambra congratulated the newly promoted officers, emphasising that the annual promotion exercise was designed to enhance the performance of the officers.
Commandant Kambra stated that their elevation was a call to redouble their efforts in protecting the Nigerian critical assets and infrastructure, which were the core mandates of the corps.
Kambra urged the officers to embrace their new responsibilities with professionalism, discipline, and commitment.
He, however, warned that any act of indiscipline would not be tolerated by the command leadership.
In a separate remarks, the Special Guest of Honor, DCG Cladius Yakubu (rtd), also congratulated the officers and encouraged them to remain focused and committed to their duties, noting that their promotions were a result of hard work, just as he enjoined them to maintain the momentum and avoid abusing their new responsibilities.
Yakubu pointed out that much was expected from those who have been given more, adding that nothing less was required from them.
