NSCDC arrests three suspects for criminal conspiracy in Kogi

Kogi State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC), has arrested three suspects for criminal conspiracy and vandalism.

Parading the suspects in the command headquarters in Lokoja, State Commandant of the Corps, Akinlade Esther said the crime was committed on the 7th and 20th of last month in Ankpa, and Isanlu in Yagba East Local Government of the State respectively.

According to her, the arrest was made possible by the joint effort of the security guard and officers of the Corps.

The suspect, one Agbo Christian, 33 years old from Enugu State and others at large vandalised Armoured cables within the premises of the Nigerian Television Authority, NTA, Ankpa 2 others, James Nifemi, 29 years old and Ibrahim Jafaru, 37 years were also arrested for vandalisation of armoured cables of the transformer in Ofin, Isanlu in Yagba East Local Government Area, all confessed to the crime.

Commandant Akinlade said items recovered from the suspects include; saw, chisel, spanner, and other items used in committing the crime which also will serve as exhibits in prosecuting them in the law Court.

She called on the people of the State to continue in their partnership with the Command to rid the State of criminals and criminality.

The suspects who admitted culpable in the act pleaded for leniency.
