NPC urges Tinubu to prioritise upcoming census for national development

As President Bola Ahmed Tinubu marked his first year in office, the Social Media Manager of the National Population Commission (NPC), Mr Stanley Nwosu, has appealed to the President to prioritise conducting the upcoming Population and Housing Census, stressing that census data is very important to the realisation of his administration’s renewed hope agenda and national development.

Nwosu stated this in Awka on Friday in an article to mark President Tinubu’s one year in office.

He emphasised that a successful census is crucial for the country’s development and good governance.

Similarly, an Anambra-based group, the Data for Good Governance Initiative, has also congratulated Mr. Nwosu on his birthday on June 1st, 2024.

“The group praised Nwosu as a man with extensive experience in the civil service with key competencies in communication and development issues.

“The organisation acknowledged Nwosu’s exceptional contributions to the development of Anambra and Nigeria through data gathering, public awareness campaigns, and well-researched articles on population and development issues.

“They noted his involvement in the NPC team that demarcated Anambra State using Geographic Information System (GIS) methodology, as well as his participation in the NPC Chairman’s advocacy visits to solicit support from key stakeholders and prominent Nigerians across the country for the upcoming census.

“The Data for Good Governance Initiative described Nwosu, who hails from Agulu in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State, as a bridge-builder, digital media expert, and refined technocrat with a comprehensive understanding of Nigeria’s population and its challenges. They commended his meteoric rise and outstanding achievements in public service, which have inspired many Anambrarians.

“The group acknowledged Nwosu’s excellent performance in his job responsibilities, praising his dedication, hard work, focus, and innovative ideas. They also recognised his efforts in promoting Anambra State and his support for the Anambra star girl, Miss Ifebube Benson, who emerged as the overall best in the 2023 NECO examinations.

The organisation prayed for God’s blessings upon the celebrant, wishing him good health, strength, and wisdom to continue his good work.
