NOUN appoints new principal officers

The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has appointed Mr Felix Edoka, Mr Ernest Odeigah and Dr Gambo Saleh Adam as registrar, bursar and librarian respectively, to man the affairs of its Open and Distance Learning (ODL) institution for the next five years.

This was disclosed by the institution in a statement signed by Ibrahim Sheme, the Director, Media and Publicity.

Edoka, the new registrar, is a member of the American Society of Public Administrators (ASPA), Association of University Administrators (AUA), Certified Board of Administrators of Nigeria (CBAN) and Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM).

Edoka holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State; and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree from the University of Jos, Plateau State.

Until his new appointment, he was the Deputy Registrar (Human Resources) of the university. His appointment takes effect from September 4, 2016.

Odeigah, the new bursar, is a fellow, Certified National Accountants (CNA) and member of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), Chartered Institute of Taxation (CITN), Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (CFE).

He holds M.Sc in Finance and an MBA from University of Lagos and University of Calabar respectively, as well as a B.Sc from European American University, United Kingdom.

Until this appointment, which will take effect from September 17, 2016, he was the acting bursar of the university.

Adam, the new Librarian, is a member of Librarians’ Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN), Nigerian Library Association (NLA), Library and Information Science (LIS)-Career Option, and National Association of Library and Information Science Educators (NALISE).

He holds a Ph.D, MLS, and BLS from International Islamic University, Malaysia; Bayero University, Kano; and University of Maiduguri respectively.

Until his appointment as librarian, Adam was the institute’s librarian at the National Institute for Legislative Studies, Abuja, on secondment from University of Maiduguri.

His appointment takes effect from October 2, 2016.
