Nothing wrong in using Ozempic for weight loss — Maureen Nwokobia

Published by

In a generation where several factors are more than ever before contributing to weight gain, CEO of Maufire Aesthetic Clinic, Maureen Nwokobia, has decried the undue stigmatization of people who embrace Ozempic treatment for weight loss.

Ozempic, though commonly used to combat diabetes, it may help people lose weight, and adults with type 2 diabetes taking Ozempic may shed up to 14 pounds. It is not understood how this makes people uncomfortable but it has generated some wrong perception about individuals who use it for weight loss.

The Maufire Aesthetic Clinic founder, a seasoned skincare expert, who alongside Dr. Cornelius Agoye, founder of Pharma Aesthetics London, is introducing NAD Infusions, a new technology helping people age backward, shared her own journey of weight loss with the help of Ozempic, and frowned at the unfair put-down being suffered by those in her category, past or present.

Maureen Nwokobia addressed the unnecessary hate directed towards “Ozempic users”. The cosmetologist drew comparison with those who use Ozempic to achieve weight loss and individuals who choose to prioritize nutrition and exercise to be in great physical condition.  She revealed the impact on others after individuals like her openly admitted to using the treatment for weight loss.

“As the CEO of Maufire Aesthetic Clinic, I’ve witnessed firsthand the transformative power of Ozempic for weight loss. Yet, I’ve also seen the unfair stigma and hate directed towards those who choose this medication. It’s time to address the elephant in the room: this hate stems from envy, “Maureen Nwakobia said.

Speaking further, Maureen Nwakobia said, “In an age where body positivity and self-love are touted as ideals, it’s hypocritical to shame individuals for taking control of their health and appearance. Ozempic users are not ‘cheating’or ‘taking the easy way out.’ They’re making a conscious decision to invest in their well-being, just like those who choose to prioritize nutrition and exercise.

“Let’s break down the stigma and support each other’s journeys towards self-improvement. At Maufire Aesthetic Clinic, we believe in empowering individuals to make informed choices about their health and beauty. Let’s celebrate progress, not tear each other down, Maureen Nwakobia added.

The skin care expert said, “But what’s truly inspiring is the courage of individuals (including myself) who have openly shared their Ozempic journeys. I remember being one of the first people in Nigeria to openly share my experience and journey using ozempic and strongly attributing it to my weightloss.

“By speaking out, we’ve helped break down the stigma and shed light on the medication’s benefits.. This vulnerability has created a ripple effect, encouraging others to do the same. We’ve seen it at Maufire Aesthetic Clinic – the power of open conversations and support has transformed lives.”

The Maufire Aesthetic Clinic CEO solicits more conversation on the subject and hailed people who embraced Ozempic on their journey of shedding excess body fat.

“Let’s celebrate these trailblazers and continue to create a safe space for open discussions. By doing so, we’ll further dismantle the stigma and empower individuals to make informed choices about their health and beauty. At Maufire Aesthetic Clinic, we’re committed to supporting your journey, every step of the way,” Maureen Nwakobia said.
