After eight years of research and a formal launch in Lagos on May 3, episodes of ‘Not in my Country’, a series of short jingles to fight individual corruption among Nigerians is now on television.
The drama sketch which is approximately a minute per episode and already has over 30 episodes that were financed with no assistance from any quarters by the initiator, Akin Fadeyi, on the platform of his outfit, Bufferzone Ltd studio.
The series is now being streamed on television after an official partnership with TV Continental and up to eight episodes are shown daily. After breaking down on TVC Entertainment, it is also being shown on Your View, Journalist Hangout, News agencies and such other outlets.
Members of the ‘Not in my Country’ team include Kazeem Idris Opeyemi, Adun O Martins, Ojo Busuyi Jobus, Okonkwo Ikechi, Abimibola Aina, Gani Olowu, Tina Mba, Mactaiwo Oluyomi, Adetoun Tade, Olawale Shalom Agboibon, Efe Mayford Orhorha, Jude Ufuoma Orhorha, Greg OJ, Kelechi, J Udegbe, Hafis Oyetoro, Orji Camilus Ibe, Dan Dan Chris Ebie, Lucy Glover, Pelumi Wale, Funky Mallam and Bukky Wright, to mention just a few.
After the launch some weeks back, there was a huge media acceptance for the project and the accolades kept pouring in. the project had been discussed on Gbenga Aruleba’s Focus Nigeria.
Speaking on the project, Dr. Thomas Adeoye, described it as a “well-researched delivery” adding that, “We all knew the truth but this is the first time anyone spoke that truth to our souls.”
The team was hosted by the Ooni of Ife who endorsed and declared his support and was endorsed by Gbenga-X Adebija’s “Businesses in Nigeria”. Emeka Oparah hosted the team in Airtel while Stone Nwaobia did the same at Etisalat and placed immediate calls to his CSR department for possible collaborations.
Renowned journalists, notable individuals and media have also shown their support for the project; Simon Kolawole, Mojeed Jamiu, Mrs. Oyeboade Akinola, Adeyeye Joseph, Ajayi Temitope Carter, Olufunke Phillips, Nigerian Tribune, Punch, Nation, Guardian.
Speaking on the project, Fadeyi said, “It took eight years of research to come out with this Anti corruption campaign project. I recall how I will get into villages dressed like a villager so I can blend and understand what they are doing to undermine the nation and endanger the lives of fellow citizens just to cut corners and increase profit margin.
