Northern govs commiserate with Katsina gov over mother’s demise

The Northern States Governors have extended their heartfelt condolences to the Governor of Katsina State, Dikko Umar Radda, following the death of his mother, Hajiya Safara’u Umaru Baribari, who passed away on Saturday at the age of 93.

In a condolence message on behalf of the Forum, the Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, described the late Hajiya Safara’u as a virtuous and upright mother who lived a fulfilled life marked by deep devotion to Allah and unwavering service to humanity.

He noted that her passing was a significant loss, particularly at a time when her wisdom and elderly counsel were still much needed by her children, grandchildren, and the current generation of leaders.

“We must take solace in the fact that Hajiya left behind a lasting legacy through her children and exemplary life which we would continue to cherish,” Governor Yahaya stated.

The Forum Chairman urged Governor Radda and other members of the bereaved family to uphold and carry on the noble values of integrity and good character exemplified by their late mother.

Governor Yahaya also conveyed the sympathies of the government and people of Gombe State over the loss and prayed that Almighty Allah would grant the deceased eternal rest in Aljannat Firdaus.

The condolence message was contained in a statement signed by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director-General, Press Affairs, Government House, Gombe.
