North East group lauds NEDC’s teamwork

Board and Management of the North-East Development Commission (NEDC) have been commended for jointly working together to ensure that the mandate of the Commission was discharged successfully.

The Board led by the Chairman, Major General Paul Tarfa (rtd) with the Management team led by the Managing Director and CEO, Mohammed Goni Alkali had recently toured ongoing projects of the Commission across the 6 States of the subregion.

Addressing Journalists in Bauchi on Tuesday, Coordinator of the North-East Discussion Circle, Prince Mohammmed Sani Mohammed said that such synergy is needed for the Commission to carry out its mandate of developing the subregion.

According to him, “The Board and Management are working as a team, this is a good sign of more developmental projects across the states. Unity is strength in achieving set objectives”.

He added that NEDC, since its establishment has taken the leadership role in the revamping of the devastation of the subregion caused by activities of insurgency.

Sani Mohammed further commended the inspection of the ongoing projects saying that it will give an on-the-spot assessment of level of progress as well as afford the Board and Management the opportunity to know what is going on at the sites.

He also said that the visit will ginger up the contractors so that they will perform optimally knowing that they are being monitored to ensure that projects were executed according to specifications.

The coordinator expressed confidence in the ability and capability of the Board and Management to deliver the mandate of the Commission urging stakeholders of the subregion to support the Commission.
