North-East group condemns political incitement to revolt

Published by

The North-East Solidarity Movement (NESM) has condemned the actions of some individuals who are allegedly inciting revolt under the guise of protesting the current state of the nation.

In a statement issued on Monday, Abbakois Bukar, the Chairman of NESM, expressed deep concern over the activities of these desperate and unpatriotic individuals.

According to Bukar, it is regrettable that some politicians are determined to provoke the youth, using them as pawns in their pursuit of dubious political agendas.

The group demanded that President Tinubu take action to hold politicians and unscrupulous business concerns accountable for hoarding essential commodities to exploit the situation and sell at prohibitive prices.

NESM also called on the youth to be cautious and recognize their manipulation in these orchestrated revolts.

Bukar reminded the youth that those who ignite the fire are seldom the ones who will be present to put it out.

“It is vital for the young generation to remain vigilant and refuse to be misled by these demagogues who seek to benefit at their expense.

“The NESM stands for solidarity in the North-East region and advocates for unity and progress. It strongly believes in addressing the challenges faced by the nation through peaceful and constructive means, rather than resorting to the dangerous path of revolt,” the statement said.

Bukar called on Nigerians to reject the politics of division and fear, and instead embrace harmony and cooperation for the betterment of the nation.

“The NESM stands firmly against any attempts to incite violence and chaos, and remains committed to promoting peace and stability in the region,” the statement added.
