North-East Governors arrive Adamawa for 9th NEGF meeting

Arrangements have been concluded for the conduct of the 9th Quarterly meeting of the North-East Governors’ Forum (NEGF) to be held in Yola, the Adamawa State capital.

Already, Governors from the six states of Bauchi, Sen Bala Mohammed, Gombe, Muhammad Inuwa, Yobe Mai Mala Buni, Borno, Professor Babagana Zulum, and Taraba, Agbu Kefas, have arrived at the state capital to join their host, Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa ahead of the meeting slated for tomorrow, Saturday, 25th November 2023.

Issues of common interest affecting the subregion, especially in the areas of insecurity and infrastructural development, are expected to take center stage.

Stakeholders, including the North-East Development Commission (NEDC), Development Partners, as well as other relevant bodies, are to take part in the meeting.

The Chairman of the Forum, Professor Babagana Ummara Zulum of Borno State, is to declare the event opened at the Government House, Jimeta – Yola.

After a closed-door session of the meeting, the Forum is expected to brief journalists on its resolutions.

As of the time of filing this report, the SSGs were having their meeting during which the agenda for the Governors’ meeting will be developed.”
