Renowned Nollywood director and filmmaker Kunle Afolayan has announced the passing of his beloved mother, Omoladun Ayanladun Afolayan, who died at the age of 81.
The director of the multi-award-winning movie, Anikulapo shared the news in a post on his verified Instagram account on Saturday.
According to him, the death of the Afolayan matriarch, who was born in 1943, is hard to accept.
He, however, appealed to his fans and supporters to remember his family in their prayers during this difficult time.
He wrote, “It is hard to accept but she surely lived a good life. Our mother Maami Omoladun Ayanladun Afolayan has gone to rest. (1943-2024). She’s survived by children and grandchildren. Please put us in your prayers. Omo re a gbeyin gbogbo wa. Ire.”
Also mourning the death of the octogenarian, popular actor Femi Adebayo sent his condolences to Kunle Afolayan and his brothers, Gabriel and Aremu Afolayan, in a post on his Instagram account.
He wrote, “My condolences go out to the entire Afolayan household for the loss of the matriarch of the family. May Almighty Allah grant her a wonderful journey home and give the family fortitude to bear this great loss.
