NOA tasked on public enlightenment about govt policies

Published by

The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 11, Fred Ekokotu, has urged the Acting Director of the Osun State National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mr. Adefarasin Stephen Adebiyi, and his team to raise the bar in informing the general public about government policies and regulations.

The AIG made this call while hosting the NOA team in his office.

According to a statement by the Zonal Public Relations Officer, DSP Ade Ogunyemi, the AIG encouraged the agency to further embark on programmes aimed at educating, informing, and enlightening the public, as the voice of the government.

He emphasized the need to sensitize the public on the importance of obeying the rule of law through engagements with market women, students, and Christian and Islamic faithful in churches and mosques.

Expressing concern over the increasing rate of cultism among youths, the AIG highlighted the need for school outreaches to raise awareness among primary and secondary school students about the dangers of cultism.

He also urged NOA officials to educate drivers and road users on the importance of adhering to traffic rules and regulations.

In his response, the NOA Acting State Director expressed gratitude to the AIG for his open-door policy, guidance, and cooperation.

Mr. Adebiyi informed the police chief about the various programmes the agency is currently implementing to fulfill its civic responsibilities and keep the public informed.

He assured that every effort is being made to ensure that all citizens are well-informed about government initiatives.

He emphasized that the agency is more committed than ever to educating the general public.
