NOA Bauchi stages walk to raise awareness on new National Anthem, values

The Bauchi State office of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) staged a road walk on Thursday to sensitise and raise awareness about the new National Anthem and the National Value Charter.

The road walk began at the Federal Secretariat, proceeding through Nasarawa Street to the Palace of the Emir of Bauchi and returning to the Federal Secretariat. Participants engaged in drumming, singing, and dancing, with many members of the public joining in, creating a lively atmosphere.

While addressing the participants at the end of the walk, the State Director of NOA, Mrs Theresa Omaga, stated that the agency decided to take the sensitisation campaign to the streets as part of its ongoing efforts regarding the new National Anthem and the National Value Charter.

According to her, “Instead of waiting for people to visit our office, we decided to meet them on the streets. In the process, some will ask what we are doing, and it’s an opportunity to enlighten them.”

Theresa Omaga emphasised the importance of Nigerians knowing the words of the new national anthem, which also includes a national prayer, noting that many people sing along without understanding the lyrics.

She added that the campaign also serves as an opportunity to sensitise the public about the “7 for 7” promises made by the Nigerian government and the corresponding commitments citizens are expected to fulfil.

The State Director expressed optimism that if both leadership and citizens play their parts effectively in the Nigerian project, the country will improve for everyone.
