No political or govt entity influenced cancellation of my book launch — Ope Banwo

Dr. Ope Banwo, the author of The Kingmaker of Muguland, has clarified that the decision to cancel his book launch was not influenced by political or government entities.

Banwo stated this in a statement released on Sunday, November 17, from his base in the US.

Explaining that it was a difficult decision to take, he noted that the event had to be stopped due to emerging considerations driven by internal considerations.

He added that external influences, pressures or coercion didn’t influence his calling off the launch event.

Clarifying to readers, supporters, and the public at large that he only called off the launch event, the author assured that the Chronicles of Muguland series continues.

“This ambitious 10-book project, based on the fictional nation of Muguland, will continue as planned. I am excited to confirm that the next book in the series, The Children of Anger, is scheduled for release in December.

“The Muguland show will continue to hold as usual and we will still give away the tshirts and books and caps promised.

“All we are cancelling is the launch event. The show is not cancelled,” Banwo said.

He encouraged all interested readers to secure their copies directly through the official sales page at kingmakerofmuguland.com, stating that the sales page may only remain active for a limited time.

The Kingmaker of Muguland was originally set for launch on Sunday, November 17, via Zoom but was unceremoniously cancelled.
