LAGOS State chapter of African Democratic Congress (ADC) has debunked a report that its members ever decamped to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state at the campaign flag- off of the party’s governorship candidate, Mr Olusola Sanwo-Olu, which took place at the Ikeja GRA on Tuesday.
Chairman of the party, Mr Kayode Jacob, said this in a statement made available to newsmen in reaction to the development, declaring the purported decampment reportedly led by a “national leader of ADC” as the height of deception and sad that the APC leadership was not ashamed to be part of the naked propaganda and shameful lie.
According to him, the ADC in Lagos is “intact, waxing stronger by the day and set to shock APC and others, saying, however, that it was not strange that the leadership of APC in Lagos would go to the extent of organising arranged decampees in the name of ADC.

“It is not strange, therefore, that the leadership of APC in Lagos will go to the extent of organising arranged decampees in the name of ADC. The purported decamping of a hired crowd and a man who led them referred to as ‘national leader’ of our great party, ADC to the All Progressives Congress is the height of deception and sad that the APC leadership is not ashamed to be part of the naked propaganda and shameful lie,” the party boss said.
Jacob described the decampment as “cooked up,” saying the publicized decampees were not known to the party at the state, LGA or even ward level, adding that, “The man who claimed to be leading the unknown defectors, Col. Fatai Ibrahim, was only a member from Ifako Ijaiye who left the party last year to join his friend who is contesting for president in APGA.”
“The ADC purported adoption of Sanwoolu and decampment, therefore, is a farce and a mere makeup to deceive Lagosians,” the ADC chairman said, declaring: “Ibrahim is not a National Leader in ADC he was addressed as such by APC leadership to give weight to the blatant lie.”
