No member of Adeleke’s family paid for his autopsy ―LAUTECH

Published by

The management of Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital (LAUTECH), Osogbo, on Thursday declared that no member of the family of Late Senator Isiaka Adeleke paid any amount of money to the hospital for the conduct of an autopsy on the corpse of the deceased politician.

They also contended that the issue of the result of the autopsy was beyond the family, maintaining that the late politician’s siblings or family had no say on the copy of the autopsy report.

Apparently reacting to the claims of Adeleke’s familiy that the hospital’s management had refused to release the report of the autopsy to them, after due payment was made, LAUTECH in a press statement signed by its Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mr Ayodele Adeyemo said “the truth is that no payment was made by the Adeleke family to the hospital for autopsy.”

According to the statement, “the attention of management of LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Osogbo has been drawn to various comments and misinformation credited to the Adeleke family in the electronic, print and social media regarding the role of the hospital in the conduct of autopsy on late Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke.”

The statement reads in part, “on the allegation of payment of fee for autopsy, LAUTECH Hospital, like all other hospitals, works round the clock, tests, drugs and procedures can be done and be paid for at any time of the day. Indeed, LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Osogbo has a fully functional automated payment system that will issue receipts instantly.”
